Prendo Pinot Grigio 2016

75cl Elena Walch Pinot Grigio Italy > Alto Adige Crisp, fresh and zesty
"When you think of Pinot Grigio, thin, neutral and fairly acidic wines often spring to mind. This one, however, is a little different. This is a crisp, fresh white with fruit flavour by the bucket-load, really nice weight on the palate and a lovely citrus tang on the finish. Proper Pinot Grigio! Enjoy on it's own anytime or try with lighter salad dishes"

In 1985, winemaking graduate and former architect, Elena Walch took over two magnificent and historic estates. Castel Ringberg, which overlooks the lake of Caldaro, and Kastelaz, a steep, south-facing hillside at Tramin. The wines are recognised throughout Italy and worldwide as being truly first-rate, having scooped many of Italy’s highest awards including the coveted Gambero Rosso three glasses for many years in a row. Tasting these wines with Elena and Werner Walch, we were astonished at the dazzling array of bottlings from various local and international varieties and crus and the overall marvellous quality of the entire range. In addition to the Elena Walch wines, we have also selected an IGT Dolomiti Pinot Grigio from sister winery Wilhelm Walch. We were instantly taken by it’s delicate pear and apple fruit and it’s generous weight not usually seen in Pinot Grigio at this price.
