Escarpment Pinot Noir 2008

75cl Escarpment Pinot Noir New Zealand > Martinborough Something special
Larry’s Pinot Noir has regularly been described as New Zealand’s greatest. It is truly spectacular, aged in French oak (30% new) for 12 months and has perfume, elegant fruit flavours and soft, ripe tannins. Matt Skinner in The Juice described it as “concentrated and perfumed, the palate is generous, silky and long, and in a couple of words, the bomb!”

Larry “The Pinot Maestro” Mc Kenna established this exceptional winery in the Te Muna valley with his wife Sue in 1999. The winery is dedicated to producing “the very best of tomorrow’s definitive New World Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay”. It is Pinot Noir however, that is the main focus, accounting for 70% of plantings.
