Dom Diogo Arinto 2016

75cl Quinta da Raza Arinto Portugal > Vinho Verde Fruit driven, smooth and dry
The Dom Diogo Arinto is flat out deliciousness. Crisp & refreshing with intense flavors of citrus, mineral and a touch of melon, apple and a floral note. This also has the trademark little spritz on the palate that is so characteristic of Vinho Verdes, but in flavour and complexity it is definitely a step or two above most of the inexpensive wines coming out of the region.

Quinta da Raza is located in Peneireiros, Celorico de Basto, in the Vinho Verde Region (DOC), adjacent to the Douro Region.
They have unusual soils for the region of schist and clay along with a microclimate meaning it receives an obscene amount of sunshine which makes their wines sunny and fresh.

“Made from Arinto grapes and so combines the fragrant fresh-lemon overtones with trademark high acidity. A good weight of fruit adds interest.” Ernie Whalley – The Sunday Times 08.06.2014

“A refreshing white for a summer’s day with waxy red-apple fruit and a grapefruit citrus tang.” Martin Moran
