Jardim da Estrela White 2015

75cl Magnum Wines Malvasia Fina,Encruzado Portugal > Dao Crisp, fresh and zesty
Jardim da Estrela Vinho Branco is a blend of Malvasia Fina and Encruzado. Very fragrant and elegant aroma, with notes of citrus, pineapple and sour apple. Lovely freshness on the palate, with very clean and attractive fruit, a lemon citrus finish and well balanced acidity.

The Dão region is one of the oldest wine regions of Portugal, which goes back to 1908. Located in central Portugal in a mountainous region ranging from 400 to 700 m above sea level, this region has its reference point at the mountain “Serra da Estrela”, the highest in mainland Portugal's. Its name comes from the river that crosses the Region, the river Dão. The characteristics of the wines are strongly influenced by the granitic terrain and the fact that the vines are inserted in forests with pines, eucalyptus and oak trees.

Established in 2012 by a team of three experienced winemakers, Magnum Vinhos has its roots in the Dão region but also produces wines from Alentejo and Douro. Carlos Lucas, Lúcia Freitas and Carlos Rodrigues had all worked at Dão Sul (Carlos Lucas was one of the co-founders back in 1990). They each brought experience and expertise from previous lives in the wine industry and chose to focus on authentic wines made from indigenous Portuguese grapes.
